Of course, I think it’s a question that a lot of photographers get asked! What’s in my camera bag? What lenses do I shoot with? What camera strap do you like? So, why not dig into it and spill the beans!
I think I should start off by noting this – there are blog posts going around that tell couples that “one of the most important questions to ask your photographer is what they shoot with”. Honestly, here’s the thing – the gear a photographer shoots with doesn’t really matter. Like, at all. What matters is how we use the gear. A photographer could have an introductory level camera and still get very crisp and clean shots. Just keep in mind that a camera is a tool, not a solution. Okay, now let’s get into it.
I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty proud of my setup! I don’t go all out, I stick to what I love and what works the best for myself and my team.
All of the gear you are about to see is what I carry in my typically portrait & wedding photography session bag. When my team is shooting video, Ryan – my lead videographer – is carrying the other necessary equipment in his bag. I’ll make sure to do another post in the future if you want to see the videography gear. (Drones, mics, tripods, and all the other goodies)
